TexMee 

TexMee is a smartphone app offering “Real-Time character-by-character Text” on Android, iPhone and selective Blackberry smartphones allowing the user to make mobile textphone calls to any of the listed companies, organisations or text relay services in some countries (text relay only available in Spain, Switzerland and New Zealand at present). Calls can be made over Wifi or Data and are usually free if the user has a free Wifi connection or unlimited data.

 

How does it work?

Running the TexMee app. Lists the companies registered to the TexBoxDirect service. Selecting any of the companies from the list initiates a real-time text call. The company’s welcome message is displayed to the caller. The call is connected via IP to a logged-in TexBoxDirect user. A live-text conversation can now take place.

 

 

What Does the user see on their smartphone when making a call

To start making calls to services listed in the app, the application needs to be launched. Clicking on the TexMee icon in the application menu will launch the application. You must have an active Wifi or Data connection to update the database or to make calls.
The first time that the application is launched, a pop up screen will appear notifying that the database needs to be updated. The user must update in order to view the listed companies as shown below:

Making a Call

Select a company by pressing on the icon

You will now see the company's welcome message.

When an agent answers the call, "Connected" will be displayed.

Please wait for the agent to type.

Once the agent has typed a greeting followed by "GA", you can start typing.Type your text and end it with "GA" (this means "Go Ahead") letting the agent know that they can now type.

 3   4  To end the call, press the menu button on your smartphone, this will display the "End Call" button. Press the "End Call" button.
Press "Yes".  6  You will return to the main list. To exit the app, press the back button on your smartphone.
   

Text Settings (Colour)

             
           
  From the main list, press the menu button on your smartphone.  2  Press "Preferences".  3  Click on the outgoing colour drop-down list.  4  Select the colour for outgoing text.  
                   
           
  Click on the incoming colour drop-down list.  6  Select the colour for incoming text.  7  Press the menu button on your smartphone.  8  Select Save and Go Back.  
                   
                 
  You will return to the main list. To exit the app, press the back button on your smartphone.              
                   
                   
   

Text Settings (Size)

             
           
  From the main list, press the menu button on your smartphone.  2  Press "Preferences".  3  Click on the Text Size bar to select the preferred text size.  4  Press the menu button on your smartphone.  
                   
               
  Select Save and Go Back.  6  You will return to the main list. To exit the app, press the back button on your smartphone.          
                   
   

Country Settings

             
           
  From the main list, press the menu button on your smartphone and press "Preferences".  2  Press "Preferences".  3  Press "Country Preferences".  4  Press the drop-down list.  
                   
             
  Select your country.  6  Select Save and Go Back.  7  You will return to the main list. To exit the app, press the back button on your smartphone.

Making a Call

Text Settings (Size)

From the main list, press the settings button.  2  Click on Text Setting.  3  Click on Font Size.  4  Select the preferred font size.
Press the main menu button.  6  You will return to the main list. To exit the app, press the home button on your smartphone.

From the main list, press the settings button.  2  Click on Country.  3  Select your country.  4  Press the main menu button.

Who can you call

Below is a list of companies/organisations listed in the TexMee app. It is important to update the database on the app from time to time as new entries may be added to the list at any time.
